Of the many things I get wrong in my rant, I think this is the most affecting, and the one that directs attention to the most pressing problem: an aging population suffering from many cognitive and physical ailments that are exacerbated and exaggerated by an historical tendency to selfishness and entitlement. Not everyone falls into this category, of course. No group is monolithic that way, but enough are to call them the majority, and there’s no reason to expect that majority to suddenly change now.
On the other hand, the sheer and furious outrage of so many Boomer responses here amply demonstrate the things I get right. (For the record, I am technically a Boomer myself. )
